If you had a chance to read last week’s blog, I shared that our fearless leaders, Peggy Fisher and Larry Stelter, had been selected as the 2017 Outstanding Individual Philanthropists by the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ Central Iowa Chapter.
On Friday, November 17, the Central Iowa Chapter of AFP held their 32nd Annual Philanthropy Day Luncheon, at which they honored their 2017 Philanthropy Day award winners. It was a tremendous privilege to watch Stelter owners Larry Stelter and Peggy Fisher awarded as 2017 Outstanding Individual Philanthropists.

Many events have resulted in Larry and Peggy being selected for this prestigious award. They consistently give back to the community. Their philanthropic focuses include—but are not limited to—higher education and early childhood development, in addition to benefiting children and families in need. In total, they made major contributions to more than 30 different Iowa nonprofits in 2015 and 2016.
While the unique missions of these organizations are diverse, they all share the same common goal of improving the lives of others. Peggy and Larry’s devotion to these organizations demonstrates their compassion and commitment to those who need it most in our community.

Larry and Peggy were recognized alongside other philanthropic community leaders such as The Rasmussen Group (2017 Outstanding Corporate Award: Large Business), Willis Auto Campus (2017 Outstanding Corporate Award: Small Business), Mary Lou Neugent (2017 Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser) and Nawadir “Nosa” Ali (2017 Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy).
