Your 2024 Calendar: Important Dates for Planned Giving Fundraisers to Celebrate

Guest blogger and Marketing Team Lead Jen Lennon is in today to gift you a game-changing 2024 calendar for unbeatable donor engagement!

A few things about me: I like to set goals and complete them (Achiever), and I really love opportunities to share information that can help others succeed (Input). If you’re familiar with CliftonStrengths (aka StrengthsFinder) these qualities may sound familiar.

Why do you care?

Because I’d really love to help you succeed in 2024 and I have something—one of my very favorite things in fact—that I think might be useful for you: a calendar. I love a good calendar. Something about seeing everything laid out in neat rows and columns makes anything seem possible.

So back to you. The start of a new year is such an exciting and joyful time, and a wonderful time for those of us who like to plan. What are we planning for? Donor engagement—any and all opportunities to make a connection with your donors or prospects. I have a few you may not have considered before.

You can cut to the chase and download the calendar now if you’d like:

There are of course some pretty obvious times for outreach. National Philanthropy Day. National Estate Planning Awareness Week. Giving Tuesday. But do you know about National Compliment Day? It’s next week! A perfect time to make a few calls or mail a few handwritten notes to donors. Or how about Join Hands Day? A day meant to bring old and new generations together to volunteer in their communities. What a fantastic opportunity for you to invite your planned giving donors and younger supporters to a special volunteer event.

Here are the top dates (and a few months) that lend themselves to creating meaningful donor outreach.

January 24: National Compliment Day
February 7: National Send a Card to a Friend Day
February 14: Valentine’s Day
February 17: Random Acts of Kindness Day
February 20: World Day of Social Justice
March 13: National Good Samaritan Day
April: Financial Awareness Month
April 20: Volunteer Recognition Day
May 4: Join Hands Day
August: National Make-A-Will Month

Use the list to mark up your favorite calendar or download our free version with everything already mapped out for you.

These days provide you the perfect opportunity to create new connections, deepen existing relationships, raise awareness for your mission, and celebrate and thank your supporters who give their time, energy, passion and resources to help you make the world a better place.

And if these dates aren’t enough, there are hundreds and hundreds of other named celebration days that you could use as a base for creating fun, unique interactions with donors (send your top donors custom Oreos on National Oreo Cookie Day, Wednesday, March 6).

Cheers to a happy and successful 2024 (oh, and a happy Museum Selfie Day today!).
